TCF National Events:
Worldwide Candle Lighting

The Compassionate Friends Worldwide Candle Lighting unites family and friends around the globe in lighting candles for one hour to honor the memories of the sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, and grandchildren who left too soon. As candles are lit at 7:00 p.m. local time, hundreds of thousands of persons commemorate and honor the memory of all children gone too soon.  The Candle Lighting is held the second Sunday of every December. A number of Compassionate Friends Chapters hold local ceremonies.  Also, families are invited to post a message in the on-line Remembrance Book which will be available during the event, at TCF's national website. National Conference
Each year in early July, The Compassionate Friends hosts a National Conference at varying locations in the United States.  It typically lasts 2-3 days and includes several plenary speakers and over 100 workshops covering numerous facets of loss and grief, as well as potential approaches that can lead to healing and reconnecting with one's self and others. It is capped by a National Walk to Remember.  The event typically attracts well over 1,000 grieving parents, siblings and grandparents who share a common bond in loss, pain, love and even hope.  It is a powerful reminder that we are truly not alone in this journey.  For more information, click here.
