Each year, the National Compassionate Friends organization hosts a multi-day conference in a different city around the country. These conferences are excellent sources of information and reinforce the connection shared by bereaved families across the country. The conference typcially draws over 1,000 attendees and features several keynote addresses and dozens of workshops. Due COVID19, the 2020 conference will be held virtually on July 31-August 2, 2020. It will feature keynote speakers, over 70 workshops and much more. Early bird registration fee is $65 by July 17; $85 thereafter. Details are available on the National Organization’s website at https://www.compassionatefriends.org/event/43rd-tcf-national-conference/
Worldwide Candle Lighting – The Compassionate Friends Worldwide Candle Lighting unites family and friends around the globe in lighting candles for one hour to honor the memories of the sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, and grandchildren who left too soon. As candles are lit at 7:00 p.m. local time, hundreds of thousands of persons commemorate and honor the memory of all children gone too soon. The Candle Lighting is held the second Sunday of every December. A number of Compassionate Friends Chapters hold local ceremonies. Also, families are invited to post a message in the on-line Remembrance Book which will be available during the event, at TCF’s national website.
